The Commercial Design Department (CDD) of Ming Chuan University (MCU) was established in 1966,
the first design department of its kind in Taiwan. In 1997, Ming Chuan was promoted to a full comprehensive university,
and along with the promotion, the School of Design was established in 1997.
Then in 2002, the Graduate Program was founded to recruit master’s degree students.
Ever since its establishment,
CDD has dedicated itself to providing excellent education to its students, creating many talented,
outstanding designers for both local and international markets.
CDD also has a good reputation for excellent academic research and quality teaching.
Our overall mission is to improve the standard of Taiwan’s commercial design.
